Luiz Zerbini

Luiz Zerbini is a contemporary Brazilian artist born in 1959 in São Paulo. He is known for his versatile work in painting, sculpture, photography and installation. Zerbini studied at the School of Communication and Arts at the University of São Paulo. His work is characterised by a vibrant and colourful aesthetic, often blending elements of nature, urbanism and Brazilian popular culture. He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions around the world, and his work is widely recognised for its contribution to contemporary Brazilian art.

"Luiz Zerbini: Intervenções" - Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro (MAM), Brazil (2006) : This exhibition presented Zerbini's artistic interventions in the museum space, exploring the relationship between his works and the environment.


"Panoramas do Brasil" - Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, France (2014): Zerbini participated in this group exhibition featuring a selection of contemporary Brazilian artists, offering a varied vision of the Brazilian art scene.


Venice Biennale - Brazilian Pavilion, Venice, Italy (1995, 2019): Zerbini has represented Brazil at several editions of the Venice Biennale, one of the world's most prestigious contemporary art events.


"Luiz Zerbini: Campos Cegos" - Instituto Tomie Ohtake, São Paulo, Brazil (2016) : This solo exhibition presented a selection of works by Zerbini, exploring his interest in landscapes and abstract forms.


"Luiz Zerbini: Madeira Cidade" - Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Niterói, Brazil (2018) : This solo exhibition explored Zerbini's work with wood and his reflections on architecture and urban space.
