Anthony Vérot

Anthony Vérot paints academic, or rather classic portraits. Away from an explicit criticism of modernism, the artist prefers to experiment the efficiency of painting beyond the common conventions to derive the conditions of new possibilities of representation. The works resulting from that seem to depend on a precarious and unstable temporality, without any relation to memory and history time.
