Frans Krajcberg

Frans Krajcberg was a Polish-born Brazilian artist and environmentalist who was born on 12 April 1921 in Kozienice, Poland, and died on 15 November 2017 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After surviving the Holocaust, he moved to Brazil in the 1940s. Krajcberg became known for his sculptures and installations inspired by nature, as well as for his activism in favour of preserving the Brazilian environment, in particular the Amazon rainforest. His artistic work reflects a deep concern for environmental issues and the destruction of the natural ecosystem. Frans Krajcberg has left a lasting legacy as a committed artist and defender of nature.
