Fréderic Altmann

Fréderic Altmann

Born in 1941 in Lilles, France
Lives and works in Nice, France

Specialist and historiographer of the School of Nice, Frédéric Altmann is plunged to the neck in the world of art. He puts on exhibitions, attends vernissages. He writes. He frequents artists. He is one of those who spend their lives highlighting that of others. This does not prevent him from asking the world (especially the art world) his inquisitive eyes and his devastating humor. Through more than 85,000 photographs made to date, he is a guardian of this time who passes, privileged witness and director of this show where laughter and sadness jostle without ceremony, and even life and death. Author-actor, he is at ease in this role that he has carved to his measure.
