Shana Lutker is Los Angeles-based artist. Her interdisciplinary work in sculpture, performance, writing, and installation foregrounds an uncanny relationship between memory and history. Drawing on the archives of psychoanalysis and surrealism, Lutker’s work explores the subjectivity that underlies our versions of the past. Solo exhibitions and performance include the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden,  Pérez Art Museum Miami, and Vielmetter Los Angeles, and Barbara Seiler Galerie. Lutker’s work was included in the 2014 Whitney Biennial, Performa 13, and many US and international venues including the SculptureCenter, Hauser & Wirth, CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, Moscow Museum of Modern Art, and Orange County Museum of Art. Her work has been covered in Art in America, Artforum, Artillery, Flsh Art, Frieze, Hyperallergic, Los Angeles Times, and The New York Times, among others. From 2014-2021, Lutker was the Executive Director of Project X Foundation for Art & Criticism, the nonprofit publisher of X-TRA. She also served on the editorial board and as Managing Editor from 2004-2014. She received her MFA from UCLA and BA from Brown University.
