Daniel Dezeuze

May 10 - June 23, 2012

After presenting works with lacerated surfaces, Daniel Dezeuze exhibited stretchers without canvases, raw but for a coating of walnut stain or plastic film. In this way, he strips down the mechanism of representation. For him, the stretcher is an ideological apparatus, which he will completely overcome in the flexible wood veneer ladders. These find their place in real space without arbitrarily ordering it. Just as the tarlatan gauze functions as an obliteration, or the trembling drawings called “collimators” evoke targeting devices and offer a means of adapting the proper apparatus, that of art, to the ordering and legislation of the reality of space. In order to respect it, and its history!
