We are happy to share with you the residence of Nicolas Momein at las Cicadas.

Nicolas Momein's practice is based on the study of trivial and functional objects, and develops through several stages of work. It begins with the identification of objects, which therefore also involves the identification of gestures and techniques.

This quasi-anthropological observation is associated with a form of learning, because he wants to understand and master these gestures, learn to use machines, collaborate with workers and craftsmen, in short, prepare to make, undo and redo these objects and to perpetuate these techniques.

Objects are instrumentalized, literally, through this learning process and modifications to the manufacturing techniques involved and other changes which may include resizing, repositioning, reworking, adding constraints or new manufacturing rules .
