Jennifer Sirey

Biographie

Jennifer Sirey est née à Brooklyn (New York), où elle vit et travaille. Depuis 1990, elle est titulaire d’un diplôme de l’école d’arts visuels. Sa sculpture consiste dans le résultat phénoménologique de la combinaison et de la composition de matériaux possédant différentes propriétés. Cela fait des années qu’elle affine un processus de croissance de micro-organismes du genre Acetobacter vivants, cultivés dans un mélange de vin appelé « mère de vinaigre », qui est devenu la matière avec laquelle elle construit ses sculptures vivantes. Ses travaux ont fait l’objet d’expositions personnelles et à deux à la galerie d’art Feature Inc. de New York, à la galerie d’art Kevin Bruk de Miami, au Platform Project Space et à la galerie d'art Real Estate Fine Art de Brooklyn. Ils ont également été exposés dans des galeries telles que Feature Inc., Morgan Lehman, Andrew Edlin, On Stellar Rays et Derek Eller à New York et à la Memorial Art Gallery (Musée d’art civique) de Rochester, New York.
