Née en 1974 à Baltimore (Maryland), Rosy Keyser a grandi dans une communauté rurale où elle est devenue familière des outils et des matériaux rustiques. En 1997, elle a pris son baccalauréat en arts (BA - Bachelor of Arts) à l’université de Cornell et en 2003, elle a obtenu une maîtrise en beaux-arts (MFA - Master of Fine Arts) à la SAIC (École de l’Institut d’Art) de Chicago. Keyser a exposé un peu partout aux Etats-Unis et en Europe, y compris à l’occasion d’expositions personnelles, comme à la galerie d'art contemporain Maccarone (New York et Los Angeles), à la galerie Peter Blum (New York) et à la Contemporary Fine Arts (Berlin, Allemagne). Parmi ses expositions collectives, on compte : Rosy Keyser & Eleanor Mikus, Parts & Labor, Beacon, NY, Painter Painter au Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota, et Pink Caviar au musée d'art moderne Louisiana (Humlebaek, Danemark). Les œuvres de Keyser font partie des collections permanentes du musée d'art moderne Louisiana (Humlebaek, Danemark), de la Maxine and Stuart Frankel Foundation (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan), du PMA (Portland Museum of Art - Portland, Maine), du Walker Art Center (Minneapolis, Minnesota) et de la Zabludowicz Collection (London, Grande-Bretagne).
