Presentation

Crossfade is more than just an exhibition title. Originating in audio technology, the term describes a principle of blending, shifting and continuous change in the context of painting: instead of hard cuts, elements interact, informing and correcting each other.

This logic has shaped Quetsch's practice for decades. His work operates in transitions – between painting and object, medium and colour, material and form, surface and space, control and chance, idea and implementation. It does not seek a classical "image", but functions as an open, rule-bound system of settings, corrections and shifts.

Life and work are inseparable: photographs, texts, construction plans and other elements flow into a personal painterly logic. Individual works are stages in an ongoing process of thought and interpretation.
