Jesse Willenbring

Born in 1980, in Saint Paul, USA.

Lives and works in Los Angeles, USA

Jesse Willenbring is a dual citizen from Luxembourg and United States of America

2010     MFA, Hunter College, New York, USA

2006     BFA, Hunter College, New York, USA

Jesse Willenbring's painting gives a savvy but facile example of what has yet to be done with modernism's painterly lineage. His balmy brushwork, pastel tone, and sophisticated color sensibility recalls Sonia Delaunay's motifs. The pictures themselves and their graphic content are brilliantly assembled by using simplest tools as pencil, charcoal, and paper.

Jesse Willenbring received an MFA from Hunter College in 2010 and has recent solo exhibitions at Thomas Duncan Gallery and Laurel Gitlen Gallery. His work has been included in group exhibitions at Gavin Brown's enterprise and Lehmann Maupin. Bernard Ceysson Gallery will organize next year a solo show by Willenbring in Paris.
